Sigh... Oh well, can't win every year. ;-) At least it made for some exciting football for a bit there.

Rowdies to Host MLS Colorado Rapids in US Open Cup with 2nd Round Win

They have to get past Jacksonville United first.

And there's a chance (pretty good one) that SKC will play Orlando City in the 3rd round should they defeat the KC Athletics (USASA, fifth tier).

My current city versus my hometown. Intriguing.

If Orlando City wins it'll help boost their chances of being the 20th MLS team me thinks.

If that were the case Rochester would have an MLS team by now.

Eh, I kinda doubt it. I think they would need to go to the NASL first .. MLS has shown they'll pull teams out of that league (Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Montreal) and put them in MLS. It's a little bit easier of a transition.

And yeah, Rochester is a good comparison. They couldn't make it stick, and they actually relegated themselves to (what eventually turned into) USL Pro.

FWIW, the league has had talks with the Carolina RailHawks of the NASL, just as they've had with Orlando City, but in both cases, I don't think it was anything serious.

Oh, and, Orlando City won't win should they face SKC.

Oh, I fully expect them to be underdogs. Doesn't mean I won't be pulling for an upset

Actually, it isn't unlikely if SKC's recent US Open Cup results are taken into consideration. They took the Richmond Kickers lightly and ended up losing. Only slightly embarrassing.

Bayern in the 83rd minute then Chelsea in the 87th. Great way to close out the game.

Great game.. Hoping it doesn't end on penalties, but at least we've had two great goals. Fantastic headers.
