Tyson Nash to get tryout at camp?

Tyson Nash, who has not played in the NHL since his two-season stint ended with the Coyotes in 2006, will get a tryout next month with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

"I'm gonna give it one more last kick at the can," he said.

4th line agitator? Between Artyukhin, Tarnasky, and Roberts, don't we have enough of those already.

What makes more sense is an audition for a two-way contract and a vet agitator in Norfolk. Although between Rosehill, Konopka, and Koci, not sure what more Nash will bring to the Ads.

There's a rumor that he needs one more NHL game played to qualify for an NHL pension. You don't think this might be another David Carle type move do you?

Well in that case, yeah, they'll do him a solid to get him his pension.

He needs 26 games to qualify for a pension. The limit is 400 games and he has 374.

NHL pensions, which are also determined by the length of a player's career, require at least 160 games played for eligibility. Those with less than 400 games played can collect $8,000 CDN per year beginning at age 45. Those who've played more than 400 games receive a payment of $250,000 CDN at the age of 55, in addition to $12,500 CDN per year at 45.
