Definitely not top 4. If no better moves are made, then yes. But, i'm not sure if he'll end up being one of our top-4 puzzle pieces.

As a Canucks fan...the guy was a shell of himself the last season and a half. I love him for his hot, but the guy can't skate anymore and has lost a large part of the "D" part of the defense game. Kind of a scary number for him at this point. That said, guys in front of the net on the PP better get out of the way even still with his awesome shot.

So they signed Happy Gilmore?

I could think of a lot worse things than MAB and him teeing off 103 mph heaters. Salo is accurate as hell too, basically replaces what we were expecting Kubina to do when he was here.

If we don't sign a Carle/Suter I bet he's paired with Lee.

I honestly would rather have Carle over Salo, but hey, I'm not Yzerman. Salo still has a sick shot. Not sure how Carle really fits into the picture anymore since Yzerman is most likely focusing on a top-4 now, which hopefully Salo is not that top-4.

Haha, well a bit more accurate with his shot. I shouldnt say he's lost all D as he is still solid positionally, but definitely can get burnt on occasion with the lack of wheels. Odd to give him more money turning 38 over two years than what he got in Vancouver last season.

He's 38 when the season starts...
They basically replaced Ohlund with this move, and got a righty point shot in the process. If Salo plays his cards right, he could get a zillion assists on our PP. Stammer from the left wing circle gets resurrected this season.

How many minutes are we looking at Salo to play a night? Though this could be dependent on a second Dman signing...

15-17 minutes, and a fair amount of those PP minutes, so not harder minutes physically. You can't count on this guy being a minutes eater.

Fortunately, you've already got three guys (Hedman, Brewer, Lee) who can be.
