    WHL FINALS

    Game 4: (W-3) Spokane Chiefs 4 @ (E-3) Lethbridge Hurricanes 1
Spokane wins Best of 7 series 4-0

    C Mitch Fadden, LET:
    Game: 0-0-0, -2, 2 PIM (holding)
    Playoffs: 19 GP, 5-15-20, -3, 17 PIM (plus 10 min misconduct)

Spokane completed the four game sweep of Lethbridge with a 4-1 win in Game 4 tonight (Wednesday) to win the 2008 WHL championship. Fadden was scoreless in all four games and finished the series with a minus-6 rating. He finishes the playoffs with 20 points in 19 games, good enough for fourth (tie) in the league.

What’s Next for Fadden: The Lightning are starved for offensive production on the farm and Fadden is one of the first of a new wave of forward draftees expected to help in that area. Fadden and his representatives will sit down with Claude Loiselle and Jay Feaster of the Lightning over the next weeks to hash out Fadden’s first professional contract. Once signed, Fadden will likely end up on Norfolk next season. Fadden’s first step toward playing in the NHL – after signing a contract – will be to earn a spot in the Lightning’s training camp.

Note: With the completion of Fadden's season, there are no Lightning prospects left playing this year.

    Game 3: (2) Waterloo Black Hawks 3 @ (4) Chicago Steel 2 (OT)
Waterloo wins Best of 5 series 3-0

    W/C Luca Cunti, CHI:
    Game: Did not play
    Series: 2 GP, 0-1-1, E, 1 shot on goal
    Playoffs: 6 GP, 2-3-5, +1, 2 PIM, 11 shots on goal
    Season: 34 GP, 11-21-32, +16, 37 PIM, 79 shots on goal

The Black Hawks completed a sweep of Chicago on the Steel’s home ice when Keegan Meuer, who had just 2 goals in the regular season for Waterloo, scored at 5:26 of overtime. The win sends Waterloo to the Clark Cup championship against either Omaha or Lincoln. This is the second consecutive trip to the finals for Waterloo, and third in the past five years. Cunti did not play for Chicago in Game 3. No reason has been reported so far for his absence.

What’s Next for Cunti: The one-time St. Cloud State University commit cannot (re-)begin his collegiate career, despite the fact Cunti has continued to take online classes since leaving the program, because the NCAA Clearinghouse has ruled him ineligible for amateur status.
