Norfolk gets a win in its first road game of the season.

Karri Ramo, like all the goaltenders in the organization these days, shouldered a heavy burden stopping 39 of 41 shots faced for the win.

    First Period
    LE Willsie, (3) (Ledin), 1:24
NOR Szczechura, (2) (Bochenski), 2:22 (PP)

    Second Period
NOR Smolenak, (2) (Szczechura, Segal), 14:39

    Third Period
LE Dupuis, (1) (Hendricks, MacKenzie), 3:11
    NOR Szczechura, (3) (Segal), 5:16
    NOR Bochenski, (2) , 11:56

Brandon Bochenski, Karri Ramo, and Paul Szczechura were named the game's three stars.

The Smolenak/Szczechura/Segal line looks like a winner, and the way Szczechura continues to rack up points he might make a run for AHL MVP if he can keep healthy.

    Still searching.

    TB-3 (OT)

Kind of a rough night for Olaf Kolzig, allowing two goals on bad rebounds kicked up the slot and then giving the Islanders the winner on a puck handling mistake. He stopped 32 of 36 for the overtime loss.

00:51 NYI Trent Hunter, (Frans Nielsen)

There are hopeful signs. For the first time this season, the Lightning allowed less than 40 shots and the team finished square in shots on goal at 36.

Matias Sointu did not play in Ilves Jr. A's 4-3 shootout loss to KalPa Jr. A.

Sointu has had a disappointing season thus far scoring just 1 goal and 2 points in 7 games with 6 penalty minutes and a -6 rating. It hasn't helped that Ilves Jr. A as a whole as struggled, winning just one game in regulation all season. Ilves Jr. A currently sits in dead last in the Finnish Jr. A league.
