    Khimik defeated Salavat Yulayev today 4-2 in the final match before the Karjala Cup break. Alexander Polushin, who has been on IR because of knee surgery, has yet to play for Khimik this season. The Superleague now adjourns for ten days for the Finnish leg of the Euro Tour tournament series. Russia still has not announced their roster as of this posting for the event.

    Marek Bartanus was -1 in Owen Sound's 5-4 loss to Kitchener.

    Vladimir Mihalik had a power play assist and was -1 in Prince George's 4-2 loss to Kelowna. Mihalik also had 4 penalty minutes in the game.

    Dane Crowley returned from injury tonight and had an assist and 2 penalty minutes in Swift Current's 5-4 loss to Medicine Hat.

    Anton But was scoreless in St. Petersburg's 5-2 loss to CSKA.

    Alexei Glukhov was scoreless in Cherepovets' 1-0 win over Chekhov.

    Khimik will play Salavat Yulayev tomorrow before the Superleague breaks for ten days for the Karjala Cup. Russia has not yet released its roster for the tournament.

    Mike Lundin's second period PPG was proven the game winner as the undefeated #1 Maine Black Bears beat Merrimack 4-1. It was Lundin's second goal of the season, his previous was also on the PP. Maine is 7-0-0 for the season and 2-0-0 in the HEAST.

    Sophomore defensemen, John Wessbecker was even with 2 shots in Massachusetts' 4-1 win over Providence. Wessbecker has played in 4 of the Minutemen's 5 games this season. He has no points, is -2 with 2 PIM.

    Senior Dusty Collins was even in Northern Michigan's 5-1 loss to #4 Miami. The Wildcats fell to 4-4-1 overall and 1-2-0 in the CCHA. In 9 GP, Collins has 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points, is -2 and 6 PIM.

    The #9 train is rolling in Mississauga. Chris Lawrence had 1 goal and 1 assist tonight in the Ice Dogs' 6-5 win over Guelph. Lawrence was +1 with 4 penalty minutes in the game and was named the third star of the contest.

    In Sudbury, Kevin Beech got the night off and watched his backup Michael Swick throw a 33 save shutout to defeat Erie 6-0.

    On the road in Oshawa, Slovakian sophomore sensation Marek Bartanus had his best night of the season posting 4 assists in a 9-5 Owen Sound rout of the Generals. Bartanus was +3 in the game.

    Defenseman Vladimir Mihalik was -1 in Prince George's 5-3 loss to Kamloops.

    Albert Vishnyakov was scoreless in Dynamo's 3-1 loss to Chelyabinsk.

    Vasily Koshechkin dropped to 8-4-3 losing to Nizhnekamsk 3-1.

    Dimitri Kazionov was scoreless in Kazan's 5-3 loss to Ufa.

    Chris Lawrence had 2 goals and 1 assist as Missisauga buried Peterborough 8-2. For his efforts, Lawrence was named the game's #2 star. The 2005 3rd round pick now has 9 goals and 17 points through 11 games this season.

    Vladimir Mihalik had Prince George's lone goal as the Cougars were crushed by Brandon 9-2. The goal is Mihalik's second of the season and his 4th point in 6 games this year. Last season with Red Deer Mihalik had just 3 goals and 12 points in 62 games. Improved much?

    Mihalik was +1 for the game with 2 penalty minutes.
