    Elsewhere in the KHL, Jokerit defeated Cherepovets 3-2 in their opening match of the season. Jokerit property Saku Salminen was cut from the team's KHL roster toward the end of preseason and it is yet to be determined where he will play this season. Last season, Jokerit loaned Salminen to SM-liiga side HPK for the 2014-2015 campaign. The Finnish league's regular season is slated to begin on 9-11-15.

    Jaroslav Janus took the backdoor loss for Sparta Praha after starter Filip Novotny allowed 2 goals on his first 4 shots in Sparta's 3-2 Game Five loss to Trinec. Trinec got the series clinching goal from ex-Preds pick Zbynek Irgl with just 3:12 left to go in regulation.

    The loss may be the end of the road for Janus on Bolt Prospects, as he appears unlikely to have his rights retained past this summer. Janus was a key contributor the Norfolk's Calder Cup championship run back in the 2011-2012 season when he went 23-8-2 with a .914 save percentage and 1 shutout while splitting time with current Canadiens backup Dustin Tokarski.
