    SM-Liiga (Finland)
    Ilves 0 @ HPK 3

Anders Lindback, Ilves, Did not play
    Season totals: 13 GP, 4-6-3, 3 SO, 2.33 GAA, 412/443 (.930 SV%)

Ilves had a hard time generating much of an attack and succumbed to being shut out by one of the top clubs in the league Thursday. Ilves did manage to hang around, tied or down just a goal, until the final period when KalPa extended its lead twice, with one of the two goals scored coming from former NHL forward Eric Fehr. Ville Kolppanen started his second-straight match with Anders Lindback still nursing the minor knee injury he suffered in practice on Tuesday. Kolppanen (33/36) again did an admirable job filling in for Lindback considering the bulk of offensive activity, as usual, took place in the Ilves end. In the contest, HPK nearly doubled up (56 to 29) the visitors in attempted shots. Ilves (6-18-3-5, 29 points) is now off until next Friday, the 28th, when they will host KalPa (13-9-7-5, 58 points). Lindback, whose injury was expected to keep him out approximately ten days, may or may not be available to return to action then.

    SM-Liiga (Finland)
    Ilves 2 @ SaiPa 3

Anders Lindback, Ilves, Did not play
    Season totals: 13 GP, 4-6-3, 3 SO, 2.33 GAA, 412/443 (.930 SV%)

Down 2-0 in the third period, Ilves got within a goal with nearly ten minutes left in regulation but SaiPa's Olavi Vauhkonen scored a power-play goal in the last few minutes doomed the visiting squad against one of the league's top teams. Max Talbot scored with the net empty and six seconds left to make the final score appear closer. Ilves essentially lost the game on special teams, as SaiPa scored its first and third goals with the man advantage and the other while shorthanded. Ville Kolppanen, who hadn't seen any action since October 26, was in net for Ilves today as Anders Lindback, who had started every match since he joined the club, was injured during the morning practice and therefore didn't make the trip. Kolppanen filled in admirably for Lindback, who allowed just one goal en route to posting shutouts in three of the last four games Ilves played prior to the break, stopped thirty-six of SaiPa's thirty-nine shots on goal. Ilves (6-17-3-5, 29 points) will stay on the read to take on HPK (10-9-8-5, 51 points) on Thursday.

Mikkelson registered a primary assist on a first period power play goal by Brady Leisening that evened the game at a goal apiece. On the play, after receiving a cross-point pass on his forehand Mikkelson, with a penalty-killer playing high but slightly off-line from him, saw a shooting lane and wristed the puck towards the net where Leisening, parked at the top of the crease, successfully deflected puck between his legs and past opposing netminder Anton Forsberg's glove. On Thursday, Vasteras (17-8-3-2, 59 PTS), returns home to face Mora (11-11-6-2, 47 PTS).
