    SM-Liiga (Finland)
    Ilves 1 vs. HIFK 0

    Anders Lindback, Ilves, W, 0.00 GAA, 24/24 (1.000 SV%)
    Season totals: 13 GP, 4-6-3, 3 SO, 2.33 GAA, 412/443 (.930 SV%)

Michael Keranen's goal in the third period proved to be all Ilves needed Saturday night as Anders Lindback, who had a relatively light workload, registered his third shutout in his last four starts to down HIFK. With his recent stretch, Lindback's numbers have shot well into the mix of the league's top goalies, all despite backstopping a club beset by defensive and offensive inconsistency. It's an especially encouraging development for an NHL organization that's been looking for a solution in net it hasn't had, aside from the body of work Dwayne Roloson provided for a few months in the second half of the 2010-2011 regular season and playoffs, in nearly a decade and has staked it's hopes in the near term to the young Swede. Ilves (6-16-3-5, 29 points) now has to wait over a week before resuming action against SaiPa (14-9-5-3, 55 points) on Tuesday, December 18th.

    Slovak Extraliga (Slovakia)
Banska Bystrica 3 vs. Zilina 1

Dana Tyrell, Banska Bystrica, 0-1-1, +3, 0 PIM
    Season totals: 1 GP, 0-1-1, +3, 0 PIM

Dana Tyrell had an assist in his debut appearance with Banska Bystrica, which gradually worked its way to a 3-0 lead in the third period that held up against Zilina, which only broke the shutout in the final minute of regulation. Tyrell was on the ice for all of his team's goals and, though he wasn't credited on the statsheet, was even a factor in the home squad's second goal as he parked out front of the opposing net and provided a timely screen as teammate Clayton Stoner unleashed a blast from above the circles. Banska Bystrica (12-13-4-1, 45 PTS), which boasts NHLers Tanner Glass, Michal Handzus and Stoner in addition to Tyrell, next faces Nitra (15-8-5-2, 57 PTS), currently the second-place team in the league standings, at home on Sunday.

    SM-Liiga (Finland)
    Ilves 1 @ KalPa 2 (OT)

    Anders Lindback, Ilves, L, 0.92 GAA, 40/41 (.976 SV%)
    Season totals: 12 GP, 3-6-3, 2 SO, 2.54 GAA, 388/419 (.926 SV%)

Anders Lindback, who came into the game was stellar again in net for Ilves, fending off plenty of rubber to keep the visitors in the game and a shot at winning but Derek Stepan won the game for KalPa in the shootout. Former Bolt prospect Matias Sointu scored Ilves lone goal early in the third period which pushed the match into the extra session. For his efforts, Lindback was awarded the game's second star and, though his shutout streak ended at 160 consecutive minutes. Lindback has really come on strong after league action resumed following the break in early November for the Karjala Cup and his improvement has culminated in an absolutely dominant stretch of play over the past three matches during which he has posted a 0.32 GAA and .990 SV%. And only won one game. It would be one thing if Lindback was playing for one of the top clubs and behind one of the better defenses in the league but he isn't, routinely gets peppered and often gets minimal goal support. Ilves (5-16-3-5, 26 points) returns home to face HIFK (12-12-1-5, 43 points) on Saturday.
