Adam Hall was still out after receiving a match penalty for head-butting in last Wednesday's 3-0 loss to SERC. Ravensburg (6-2-1-5, 23 PTS) will resume their road trip against league bottom-feeder SC Riessersee (3-0-1-9, 24 PTS) on the 13th.

    Calgary's Mikael Backlund (2 G, 2 A) and St. Louis' Patrik Berglund (1 G, 3 A) helped Vasteras cruise to victory on Sunday and, for Backlund, that made five straight games with two-plus points. While Vasteras ran into some minor penalty troubles, it was perfect on the PK, dominated in the face-off circles and roughed up Oskarshamn's Linus Fernstrom (26 S / 32 SA, .813 SV%) en route to victory. It was 5-0 in the third period before Oskarshamn was finally able to beat Lars Johansson, who was fresh after posting a shutout on Thursday, and get on the board. Johansson finished the game with 28 stops. This was Mikkelson's second game with his new club. Up next for Vasteras (12-1-6, 38 PTS) is the November break before facing Djurgarden (7-5-7, 27 PTS) on the road on the 12th.

Lightning prospect Jaroslav Janus (pictured) turned away 32 shots for the win. NHLer Jakub Voracek scored Praha's only goal. The match is Bratislava's last before the Karjala break.

    After being roughed up by SaiPa on Thursday night, Tampere rallied from a goal down in the third period to edge past Espoo Saturday for Anders Lindback's first win with his new club. Ilves enjoyed nearly twice as many shots as the Blues in the game and Lindback was sparely tested until the third period when the Blues hit double-digits in shots. Michael Keranen led the way for Tampere with an early goal and an assist (along with Mikael Kuronen) on Matias Chord's game-winner with roughly ten minutes left in regulation. Ilves heads into the November break with a league-worst 19 total points and does not play again until the Tuesday after next (the 13th) when they will face a formidable Oulu Karpat squad that is currently in third-place with 37 points but only a single point out of first.

    Locked-out Chicago Blackhawk Victor Stalberg (2 G, 1 A, 4 SOG) and former Dallas Star and Detroit Red Wing Fabian Brunnstrom (1 G, 1 A, 4 SOG) led Frolunda to a decisive victory over Toronto's Cody Franson and Brynas. Brynas only trailed by a goal through the first thirty minutes of action before Frolunda put the game out of reach by scoring twice a few minutes apart in the second and using the momentum to largely dictate play through the remainder of regulation time. Johan Harju had a game-high five shots on goal and won the only face-off he took but otherwise didn't hit the stat sheet while former Lightning netminder Johan Holmqvist, who stopped 29 of the 33 shots he faced, took the loss. Brynas (8-6-3-3, 33 PTS) next faces Linkoping (11-8-0-1, 34 PTS), which has won the the last five games it has played at home against Brynas, on Tuesday.

    Minus the presence of Adam Hall, who received a match penalty for head-butting in Wednesday's 3-0 loss to SERC, Ravensburg overcame an early deficit and narrowly outshot Bietigheim 37-32 to secure a home victory Friday night. G Christian Rohde, who earned his seventh win of the season, was a rock for the Towerstars but Jochen Vollmer delivered his own impressive performance in net for the Steelers. Christopher Oravec and Fredrik Cabana set up Matt Kelly and Radek Krestan for both Ravensburg goals. The Towerstars (6-2-1-5, 23 PTS) now head the road and will next square off against the Landshut Cannibals (5-2-5-2, 24 PTS) on Sunday.

    After losing his SM-Liiga debut to HPK in overtime Tuesday night, locked-out Lightning G Anders Lindback and his Ilves teammates were beaten like a drum Thursday night by SaiPa, which jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead and never looked back. Jyrki Jokipakka, with his first goal of the night, got Ilves within one just 24 seconds into the second period but SaiPa quickly countered and, by the end of the regulation, had rattled off five more goals to complete the onslaught. Ilves is next in action on Saturday against the Espoo Blues.
