    Josef Stumpel scored a goal with just nine seconds remaining in overtime to spoil Karri Ramo's Russian debut as Omsk fell to Astana 1-0. Ramo stopped 17 of 18 shots in the match.

    Vasily Koshechkin stopped 33 of 36 shots as Togliatti defeated KHK MVD.

    Dimitry Kazionov was -2 in 12:20 of ice time as Kazan fell to Spartak Moscow 4-1.

    In other news, prospect Denis Kazionov has moved from Khabarovsk to Ekaterinburg. He was -1 in his debut with the club yesterday in the team's 3-1 loss to Magnitogorsk. He played 12:14 in the match. The younger Kazionov and Ekaterinburg will face off with Cherepovets tomorrow.

    Johan Harju was scoreless in 15:55 of ice time as Dynamo Moscow fell to CSKA 3-2 in overtime in Harju's Russian debut. Harju, who was versatile in his time in the Swedish Elitserien, played center today and was 53% on draws.

    Linus Omark was also scoreless in the match for Dynamo. Among Harju's other Dynamo teammates are former Lightning properties Dimitry Afanasenkov and Vadim Epanchintsev. Afanasenkov had a goal in the match.

    Tomorrow will feature Karri Ramo's Russian debut for Omsk as well as matches for overage prospects Dimitry Kazionov and Vasily Koshechkin.

    Dimitry Kazionov was scoreless in 11:30 of ice time as Kazan defeated Yaroslavl 3-2 in overtime in the opening match of the KHL season.

    Tomorrow, Johan Harju will make his KHL debut as Dynamo Moscow squares off with CSKA.

    Interesting nugget buried deep in one of Erik Erlendsson's blogs:

    Lightning prospect and former Kings first round pick Lauri Tukonen has been in Tampa to get an injury looked at. Tukonen missed much of the second half of the season with Lukko of the SM-liiga with an injury. Now, Erlendsson says in the blog that Tukonen isn't an impending signing, but it's something that makes you wonder.

    After successfully eliminating top flight Lightning prospect Johan Harju and Lulea, Elitserien power moved on to face HV 71 in the semifinals in a clash of league titans. Unfortunately, Janne Niskala and Frolunda weren't quite up to the task...

    3/11:
    Janne Niskala had 2 goals and 2 assists, all on the power play, as Frolunda put Lulea on the brink of elimination defeating the upstarts 5-1. Frolunda took a 3-1 series lead with the victory. Johan Harju was scoreless in the match.

    3/12:
    Lulea's season ended with a nailbiting 1-0 loss to Frolunda. Janne Niskala and Johan Harju were scoreless in the match.

    Harju ends his playoffs with 4 goals and 5 points in 5 games. The power forward was also -2 and 48% on draws. Niskala's 4 point game in Game Four was all of his scoring in the five game series. The defenseman was also -2 in the series.

    Despite yet another power play goal by Johan Harju, Lulea fell apart in the third period in a 5-1 Game Three loss to Frolunda. Lulea is now down 2-1 in the opening round playoff series. Harju also set up a breakaway in the third period with his club down 3-1, but former NHLer Lubos Bartecko was unable to convert for Lulea. Defenseman Janne Niskala took a third period interference penalty in the match for Frolunda.

    Harju is tied for the lead in playoff scoring with 5 points in 3 games, and tied for the league best in playoff goals with 4. All of Harju's goals have come with the man advantage.

    Johan Harju had a power play goal, but it was not enough, as Lulea fell to Frolunda 4-2 in Game Two of their opening round playoff series. The series is now knotted at 1-1. Lulea was outshot 38-17 in the game. Janne Niskala was scoreless in the match for Frolunda.

    Game Three is slated for Monday.
