    2015-2016 Totals: 39 GP, 20-18-38, -3, 14 PIM

Stephens was a late scratch for Saginaw, prompting speculation that a trade might be in the works. Stephens, who is already signed with Tampa Bay, is in his last year of junior hockey and while Saginaw has done well lately, conventional thought is the Spirit can cash in on a Stephens trade to set themselves up for the future. Though he played in Saginaw’s last game, it was an injury that kept him out Sunday.

Brandon Wheat Kings 0 @ Kamloops Blazers 4

G Connor Ingram, KAM: Win, 29 saves on 29 shots, shutout, *Third Star*

Ingram won his third game in a row, this time by shutout, beating Brandon, 4-0. His 2.12 GAA is second in the WHL to Carter Hart (Flyers) at 1.65, and his save percentage, win total, and shutout totals are just behind Hart (.937, 15, 4). Hart and Ingram will battle through Canada’s World Juniors camp to be the team’s No. 1 goalie.

Twenty-some games into the season and Boko is within one goal of Dennis Yan. Didn’t see that coming. To make matters more confusing, Yan has more penalty minutes than Boko. What a weird world we live in. On Thursday night in Shawinigan, Boko’s Dogs beat Yan’s Cataractes, 3-2, in a shootout. Boko scored both his goals with less than two minutes left and within 45 seconds of each other. All three Lightning prospects in the game were involved in the shootout, and all three missed their opportunities. All three Lightning prospects will probably be in Syracuse next season together.

    Western Hockey League

Seattle Thunderbirds 3 @ Kamloops Blazers 4 (OT)

G Connor Ingram, KAM: Win, 52 saves on 55 shots, *First Star*
    Season Totals: 22 GP, 12-9-1-0, 2.23 GAA, .933 sv%, 1 SO
    2015-2016 Season: 61 GP, 34-15-5-4, 2.61 GAA, .922 sv%, 4 SO

In his first game since being named to Team Canada’s World Juniors Selection Camp roster, Ingram starred in a 4-3 overtime win the Blazers had no business winning. Ingram stopped 52 shots as Kamloops was outshot 18-5 in the first period, 20-4 in the second, and 17-9 in the third. Kamloops then won in overtime, just like you script it. Ingram was first star and probably shouldn’t pay for a meal for the rest of the season. Mathew Barzal, a NYI first round pick who started the year in the NHL, had a goal and an assist for Seattle.
