DeAngelo’s point streak is now at 23 games, currently the longest in the OHL. Connor McDavid’s 27-game streak ended Wednesday.

Swift Current lost, so Moose Jaw pulled within two points of the last guaranteed playoff spot in the East Division. Swift Current has a game in hand, however.

    DeAngelo followed up consecutive first star games with a second star effort Thursday in a 6-4 win over Cristiano DiGiacinto and Windsor. DiGiacinto scored the game’s opening goal and had several opportunities throughout the game while a desperate Windsor team tried to get at least a point. The Spits entered the game in a 3-way tie for eighth in the West. As for DeAngelo, he now has a 20-game point streak and is averaging more than two points per game since joining the Soo. He has 16 points in his last five games. Not everything was positive, however, as DeAngelo tried to get his first career hat trick into an open net twice while protecting a one-goal lead. The second attempt was from his own end line and caused an icing. Soo coach Sheldon Keefe took DeAngelo off the ice and sat him on the bench. The Greyhounds scored into an empty net seconds later.
