    O’Donnell snapped a two-game scoreless streak and notched his 61st point of the season Wednesday. Those 61 points tie his career high in Junior A, set last year with the Winnipeg South Blues of the MJHL (29-32-61). O’Donnell’s goal was Penticton’s first of the game, scored on the power play early in the first period.

Fargo is three points behind Dubuque for first in the Western Conference, with the Saints having a whopping four games in hand. Mullin has a nine point lead on Kero Tanner for the team lead in scoring despite playing six fewer games.

    Connolly returned two weeks after spraining his MCL to lead his Cougars to a big win over Kamloops. He was expected to miss 3-6 weeks. Connolly is 10th in the WHL in goals at 27. He has eight more goals than anyone else on his team and is one point behind Nick Buonassisi for the team lead in points despite playing 12 fewer games.

    O’Donnell hasn’t scored in two games, which is an eye opener considering his strong play after the World Junior A Challenge. The Kings exacted some revenge on Penticton for beating them 4-1 last game out.

Landry continues to set new career highs for goals and points in a season each time he hits the scoresheet. Landry, who is already under contract with the Lightning and will likely be in Norfolk next year, is one assist away from tying his career high for assists in a season.

    This would have been a great game to attend as Portland boasts arguably the WHL’s best roster and TC has been absolutely on fire lately, averaging seven goals per game over their last four contests. Tuesday night Portland’s Ryan Johansen, a high first round pick of Columbus last summer, scored with five minutes left in the third to tie the game, then Islanders’ high first rounder Nino Niederreiter scored his 18th in overtime to win it. Carter Ashton now has seven points in three games surrounded by the Americans' talent and is over a point-per-game pace for the season. His 18th goal of the season, scored on the power play, gave TC a brief 3-2 lead in the second period.
