    Beukeboom is still looking for his first point of the season. The Soo captain has two fights, however. Beukeboom jumped Hooey after Hooey laid an open ice check on a Soo player. As a result of Beukeboom's actions, the Soo unsuccessfully tried to kill off a seven-minute power play. The Greyhounds were outshot 40-25, including 18-5 in the second period.

    The Bulls had an early 2-0 lead, but couldn’t make it last. Panik had his third multi-point game of the season. Panik is one point behind Andy Bathgate for the team lead in scoring.

    Ashton was kicked out of the game late in the second period after his second fight. Red Deer scored three times in the third period, and once in overtime to win. Against Grayson, Ashton came to the defense of a teammate who had been checked from behind. The Pats are now 1-4-1 on the year.

    Connolly’s point streak extended to five games as the Cougars handed Kootenay a home loss with the game's final three goals. Two of his three assists came in the third period. Connolly leads the Cougars in scoring five games into the year.

    Beukeboom, who had a fight in the season opener, missed his second game of a two game suspension. Dallas Stars first round pick Jack Campbell stopped 30 of 35 shots in the loss for the Spits. Campbell is 2-2 with a 4.50 GAA and .866 sv% so far this year.

    Panik (pictured) earned the first First Star for a Lightning prospect this season, finishing a Belleville win with two goals and a fight. He scored his first on a penalty shot while shorthanded – he sent a wicked wrist shot into the top corner off the post. For his second goal, he scored on a one-timer from the left faceoff circle, similar to Steven Stamkos (opposite side from Stamkos’ office).     Ashton notched his first point of the season when he set up Colin Reddin (undrafted) for Regina’s second goal, cutting Swift Current’s lead to 3-2 in the third period. The Pats would add two more goals in the span of just over two minutes to earn their first win of the year (1-2).

    O’Donnell remains third on the Vees in scoring. Penticton sits in third in the Interior Conference at 5-4-0-0. They were playing for the fourth consecutive night and fifth game in the last six days. The Vees went 3-2 in the 5 games. They’re now off until Thursday.

    Janosik (pictured) earned his third point of the season, though it came in a loss to Shawinigan. The Olympiques outshot the Cataractes 41-16. Jean-Sebastien Boucher (undrafted), playing in his first game, stopped just 10 of 15 shots for Gatineau. Shawinigan added an empty netter.

    Ashton made his season debut for the Pats, but Regina fell in another close game to Brandon. Regina is now 0-2 on the young season. Ashton is wearing an alternate captain’s A on his sweater this year. The former first round pick of the Bolts scored two goals in NHL exhibition play last week before being returned to his junior team.
