Shane Owen, Erie’s third goaltender, was let go recently upon Janus’ (re)arrival to the club from AHL Norfolk. Owen, 19, passed through OHL waivers unclaimed and has since signed with the QMJHL’s Moncton Wildcats, home of Lightning prospect Mark Barberio. They play each other for the first time in the regular season on January 14.
