    There was no let-down for the Armada after being top-ranked Quebec last game out, as they crushed Sherbrooke, 7-0. Paquette is now over a point per game pace on the season. His fifth goal of the young season was scored in the first period and gave the Armada a 3-0 lead. Blainville-Boisbriand (7-1-0-1) was ranked second in the latest CHL Top 10, one spot behind Quebec.

    Artem Sergeev extended his point streak to three games with an assist, but Val-d’Or couldn’t overcome two two-goal deficits to defeat the Wildcat in Moncton. Allain Saulnier (undrafted) had two goals for Moncton. Sergeev is plus-6 in his last two games.

    Note: Nikita Kucherov (Quebec) remains out with a shoulder injury. He is expected back before the end of the month.

    The Petes fought back from a 2-goal deficit to force overtime, but gave up the extra point in a 4-3 loss to the Fronts. Koekkoek earned an assist to give him at least one point in consecutive games for the first time since November 8 and 11 last year when he had six points in two games. He injured his shoulder two weeks later and was out for the season. Spencer Watson (2014) had three assists for Kingston.

    Val-d’Or scored seven times against the Eagles for the second straight game, and for the second straight game Lightning prospect Artem Sergeev (pictured) had two points in a win. Sergeev scored twice on Wednesday night to give him three goals on the year. He had 12 shots on goal during the last two games.

    Koekkoek scored his first goal of the season and added an assist to lead the Petes to a 3-1 win over Niagara. The goal was Koekkoek’s first since November 12 of last year, when he had a goal and three assists in a 7-4 win over Barrie. Later in November he hurt his shoulder and was out for the year. Peterborough is now 2-5 on the year.

    Blujus had his modest 2-game point streak snapped in a brutal overtime loss to Mississauga on Canadian Thanksgiving. Brampton allowed Mississauga to tie the game with a shorthanded goal in the final minute. Brett Foy (undrafted) had two goals for the newly named Steelheads, including the winner in the extra session. Blujus was on the ice for the overtime winner.

    Woah. The Armada came out flying, outshooting Quebec 19-9 in the first period, en route to a 4-2 win over Patrick Roy’s Remparts. It was Quebec’s first loss of the season. They came into the weekend as the top-ranked team in Canadian Juniors. They started the season 7-0. Lightning prospect Nikita Kucherov remains out for the Remparts while he rehabs his shoulder injury. Paquette (pictured) took 31 faceoffs in the game for the Armada, winning 16 of them. The 31 faceoffs were nearly 50 percent of the draws in the game.

    Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 3 @ Val-d’Or Foreurs 7

    Val-d’Or got a hat trick from Anthony Mantha (2013) to beat the Eagles, 7-3. Cape Breton beat the Foreurs 5-3 on Saturday. Sergeev led the Foreurs in shots and hits during the game.

    Paquette had his two game multi-point streak come to an end. He led the team in hits on Saturday against Gatineau. The Armada outshot the Olympiques 32-21, including 16-5 in the first period. They also had a 1-0 lead half-way through the final stanza before Gatineau took over.

    A day after Petes captain Koekkoek spoke called his team out for their recent play, Peterborough put forth a better effort, but came up short in Barrie. The Petes had been outscored 14-3 in their last three games, all losses.

    Paquette had a goal and an assist for the second straight game, and was second star for the second straight game as the Armada beat the Rocket, 6-2. Christopher Clapperton had a hat trick for Blainville-Boisbriand. He went undrafted in 2012, but camped with the Flyers, scoring a hat trick in their prospect scrimmage. Paquette is up over a point-per-game pace for the season. He has four multi-point games this year.

    Owen Sound avenged a 2-1 loss to the Sting in their last game. Habs first rounder (2012) Alex Galchenyuk had a goal and an assist for Sarnia. Dotchin hasn’t registered a point since accumulating two assists in the season opener.

    Guelph is now 2 for 2 in their key 3-games-in-3-nights stretch this weekend. They defeated Windsor 5-0 on Thursday. Richard had three assists Thursday night and added a helper Friday. Justin Auger (undrafted) had a hatter for the Storm, including the game-winning goal with five seconds left in the game. Guelph overcame a 3-1 deficit to win.

    News: Unhappy with his team’s 3-game losing streak in which they’ve been outscored 14-3, Peterborough captain and Lightning first rounder Slater Koekkoek (pictured) boldly told the Peterborough Examiner that something may have to change with team personnel.

    “I'm not going to do the GM's job by any means but if there are certain players in here not willing to compete then something has to happen,” he said. “We're not good enough.”

The loss by Kingston was their first of the season after three wins.

    Paquette (pictured) had his third multi-point game of the season to help the Armada to a 2-1 win over the visiting Volts. Devils first rounder Stefan Matteau Jr had the game-winning goal for Blainville-Boisbriand. Paquette led the club in hits in the game with two and was 17 of 24 on faceoffs.

    Val-d’Or Foreurs 1 @ Shawinigan Cataractes 5 (Tuesday)
