    No.15 Vermont Catamounts 2 vs. No.5 Wisconsin Badgers 3
NCAA West Regional Semifinal (St. Paul, MN)
C/W Matt Marshall , UVM: Did not play.
    Season Totals: 33 GP, 1-4-5, -4, 14 PIM

Vermont actually led this game 2-1 after the first period, but were then outshot 30-15 over the final two periods, being outscored 2-0. The Catamounts' season and impressive playoff run is now over. Marshall (pictured) was a healthy scratch for the fifth straight game after the sophomore only missed one regular season contest. His speed and defensive ability are assets to the Catamounts, and he’ll likely be a fixture on at least their third line next season.

C/W Alexander Killorn, Harvard: Season complete.
    Season Totals: 32 GP, 9-11-20, E, 26 PIM

Killorn, a sophomore, was one of the top prospects at the Lightning’s 2009 summer camp and could be a signing target of the Lightning this offseason. Speculation from Harvard followers is he’ll return to the Crimson next season, however. Stay tuned.

D Luke Witkowski , Western Mich. Univ.: Season complete.
    Season Totals: 32 GP, 2-4-6, -13, 67 PIM

Witkowski gained valuable ice time as a freshman defenseman for the Broncos this season, though he went through his ups and downs in his rookie year. He is expected to be a big part of WMU’s future on the blueline.

    USHS Update

No.14 Vermont Catamounts 0 vs. No.4 Boston College Eagles 3
Hockey East Semifinals; BC advances to finals.
C/W Matt Marshall , UVM: Did not play.

    Season Totals: 33 GP, 1-4-5, -4, 14 PIM

John Muse (undrafted) shutout the upstart Catamounts, and now the BC Eagles will face the University of Maine for the Hockey East championship. The Catamounts will wait for a potential at-large bid to the upcoming 2010 NCAA Tournament. Marshall, a sophomore, sat for the fourth straight game as a healthy scratch after only missing one game all season. According to the Burlington Free Press, Marshall's replacement, Jay Anctil, scored the game winner in overtime to clinch their series vs. New Hampshire to send them to the Hockey East Semifinals.

    No.19 Vermont Catamounts 1 @ No.11 New Hampshire Wildcats 0 (OT) (Sunday)
Hockey East Quarterfinals – Game 3. Vermont wins Best of 3 series 2-1.
C/W Matt Marshall , UVM: Did not play.

    Season Totals: 33 GP, 1-4-5, -4, 14 PIM

After not losing on home ice to a Hockey East opponent all season, UNH dropped games 2 and 3 to Vermont, both by 1-0 scores, and now the top-seeded Wildcats are out of the HEA playoffs. Vermont got two shutouts from Rob Madore (undrafted) after he gave up six goals in game one and was pulled, and an overtime goal from 1985-born New Hampshire-native Jay Anctil (undrafted) in Game 3 – Vermont’s 51st shot on Brian Foster (Panthers 5/05) - to move on. They will now go to TD Garden in Boston to face No.4 Boston College in the semifinals. No.19 Maine faces No.20 Boston University in the other HEA semifinals. Don’t expect Marshall, who has yet to play for the eighth seeded Catamounts in the playoffs, to suit up anytime soon with Vermont riding this momentum.

He set career highs in games played (+2), goals (+3), assists (+3) and points (+6). He also nearly cut his PIM in half from his freshman year, 46 to 26.
