Redline Report Mock Draft

Although my copy of Redline's 2006 Draft Guide has yet to show up on my front stoop, Redline has released their mock draft online for USAToday. Redline has the Lightning selecting goaltender Jonathan Bernier out of Lewiston of the QMJHL. Bolt Prospects will have more on Bernier and all the potential 2006 picks in the coming weeks.

goalie?

I would have thought with the signings that Redline might think that the bolts would go for a speedy winger/sniper type. I wonder if the bolts trade down and get more picks.

interesting

Interesting that they have Toews going before Staal, and also pretty interesting that they still have Tlusty that high after the Combine .. I didn't hear many positives about him.

The Combine doesn't mean a

The Combine doesn't mean a whole lot. The aerobic tests measure endurance more so than someone's sprint capacity and the latter is more important in hockey and the strength drills aren't that important because it's not difficult to tell a prospect to hit the weight room to improve in that area. Tlusty is considered to be like Havlat but a better finisher. It's not surprising at all he's firmly a lotto pick, bad Combine or no.
