Preseason Game Night 9/22: Lightning at Red Wings

An unfortunate end to a very nice comeback. TB-4 DET-5 (OT) The Lightning erased a 2 goal deficit in the final 5 minutes of regulation before falling in OT. Vincent Lecavalier led the way with a hat trick scoring an even strength goal, a short handed goal and capping the Lightning comeback with a power play goal. The Lightning's other goal was scored by overage prospect Eric Perrin. Individual assists went to Vaclav Prospal, Doug Janik, Ryan Craig, Nikita Alexeev, Martin St. Louis and Brad Richards. Johan Holmqvist had a rough reintroduction to North America allowing 5 goals on 26 shots (that's more of a Johan Grahame stat line). Vinny is on a tear

Let's all hope this is shades of things to come. Vincent, has been on fire all preseason. He came to camp ready to play and is preparing for opening night. So far nothing but good vibes with the team. Agree on the Johan Grahamme comparison but remember that the give up on the goal in overtime was due to the inability of the bolts specificaly Delmore on two opportunities was not able to clear the puck from the zone. However, in the regular season Delmore would not be on the ice at that time of the game. Good action so far this year. Looking forward to the game Sunday been a long time since 'real hockey in the Bay'. Pete, have they announced who will be in goal? Any updates on Nikita's condition would be appreciated. He has played well from all I can hear on the wires and that would really make R2N think about his plight in Russia.
