Kasturas had 18 goals and 38 points in 28 games last season. Jean Desrochers and Randy Rowe along with Doug Andress look to be holdovers from the core of non Lightning prospects who made up the Johnstown Chiefs last season. Tryout players who made it to Springfield are F Kelly Czuy, C David Desharnais, C Todd Griffith, LW Travis Fuller and D Geoff Waugh. All five participated in the Lightning's prospect camp this summer and all but Czuy appeared for the team at the Traverse City prospect tournament.

Katsuras

I was able to play against Katsuras last year and can say that he's a very solid player. He's a scorer who can make the players around him considerably better. The jump from DIII hockey to the AHL is a big one, though, and it's an almost sure bet that he'll get squeezed out of Springfield. But it'd be interesting if he can compete for a spot among all the Lightning prospects.

ECHL Job

There are ECHL jobs up for grabs in Springfield camp with the Johnstown Chiefs for all these tryout players, so if he plays well that's an avenue which will be open to him.
