$$$

Sounds like ol' Vasily is driving up his price to bring him over in the summer. Maybe one of the best kept secrets in all of sub-NHL hockey.

Supposedly he was quoted in

Supposedly he was quoted in the Russian papers saying he's happy with Lada and doesn't want to come to North America. It may take a pile of cash and some reassurances I'm not sure Feaster is willing to give to get him over here.

I've heard the same thing

I've heard the same thing from some Russians I trade cards with. He absolutely loves Russia, the RSL, and playing there. Like many, he loves his country and appears to be willing to stay there so it may take a ton to get him here. We here think theyre nuts to stay there, but sometimes home truly is the best place to be.

Lets see what Feaster can come up with, I'd love to see Ramo and Kos playing together here :)

Sad

It'd be a shame if we weren't able to bring him over, but it's hard to tell how a goalie will be able to transition into the NA game. It'd be even worse to pay him whatever it takes, then have him come over and not be able to play the way he has in Russia.

Could this be why we drafted Helenius in the first round? I thought it was insane to draft a goalie with the highest pick we've had in a long while, especially with Kosch and Ramo in the future. Maybe they knew of his unwillingness to come over, and drafted a goalie to keep the system stocked?

BPA

We drafted Helenius in the first round because he was the BPA. I think they would've preferred to draft a forward, but all the good ones were off the board already.
