AHL Game Night 11/17: Marlies at Falcons

Karri Ramo is my hero.

TOR-2
SPR-3 (SO)

For the second game in a row Ramo stole two points stopping 33 of 35 shots faced in regulation/overtime before stopping 5 of 6 penalty shots in the shootout. Ramo has won 4 of his last 5 starts and is now 6-3-0 on the season. Ramo's feats were even more incredible tonight considering the Falcons were again badly outshot 35-18. Andy Delmore and Stanislav Lascek scored the Falcons goals. Lascek's talley was his first goal and point in the AHL. Helpers went to Matt Smaby, Dan Cavanaugh, Jean Desrochers and Marek Kvapil. Zdenek Blatny and Eric Healey converted in the shootout session to secure the win. Ramo and Lascek were the first and third stars of the game, respectively.

Good lord

I think I have a new mancrush. Sorry Ryan Craig!

I'd love to be able to watch the kid play though.

Re Ramo

He was the sole reason the Falcons won (survived) tonight. They were absolutely dominated on their own ice by a team that was 5-9 going in. That being said they have won these last two after being thoroughly outplayed. The first goal was a shot from the point by Delmore, not one of his usual blasts, but a well placed shot that beat a screened Racine. Lasczek's goal was a result of a lot of hard work by Desrochers who flew up the left side went around a defender and from behind the net made a perfect pass to Lasczek who had a wide open net and buried it. Just wish Pogge had been in the net for the Marlies. Kind of wondering what Chad and Pete think of his upside compared to Ramo. Scoob in Spfld
