NHL Game Night 12/14: Lightning at Canadiens

There's nothing much to say. This team just seems to have the worst kind of karma right now.

TB-2
MTL-4

The Lightning outshot Montreal 41-20 in the game, but Huet stood on his head allowing the Canadiens to stay in the game. They get a deflection goal in the third to tie and then a semi-soft shorthander later in the period (Denis must stop that one) and that's all she wrote. It's gotten into the realm of the absurd now.

First Period
Montreal 8:29, Mark Streit 1 (shorthanded) (Sheldon Souray, Tomas Plekanec)
Tampa Bay 13:39, Brad Richards 13 (power play) (Vaclav Prospal, Filip Kuba)

Second Period
Tampa Bay 18:42, Martin St. Louis 19 (Vincent Lecavalier, Nolan Pratt)

Third Period
Montreal 6:38, Maxim Lapierre 1 (Mike Komisarek, Garth Murray)
Montreal 13:34, Saku Koivu 11 (shorthanded) (Alexei Kovalev, Sheldon Souray)
Montreal 19:14, Saku Koivu 12 (empty net) (Mark Streit, Sheldon Souray)

Yep it's Karma

Just our luck that two Canadiens got their first goals of the year against us.

I can't count how many times...

We've given guys their first goal of the year or their careers, seems to happen entirely too much.

Anyway, our reward for losing 2 games in Canada is "ooooh, they're going to trade us someone good!" articles in the Canadian press.

Read carefully and see how they turn Feaster talking about mental breakdowns and facing a team with a hot goalie into "it's all the goalies". Such idiots.

The comments at the end are just a ignorant.

Granted, TB hasn't received great goaltending, but I don't think it's Grahame-like.

The problem, IMO, is the second wave of help. Outside of Boyle and some from Kuba, the next level of dman hasn't been there. Ranger hasn't played as well as had hoped and Sarich is Sarich.

Offensively, the main problems with this team lie with Fedotenko and Prospal. The big 3 (Richards coming on) are picking up their stats to replace Modin, but the others are not. And that includes Affy projected to make at least SOME offensive impact.

Those draft picks Feaster saved at the last draft could come in handy if it weren't for the cap making it necessary to move a salary out. Perhaps the picks become sweeteners.
