Blatny Released and Going To Europe
Springfield Falcons Release
Springfield, MA – The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that they have mutually agreed to release forward Zdenek Blatny and allow Blatny to sign with MODO of the European Elite League.
Blatny originally signed a standard American Hockey League contract with the Falcons on August 22, 2006 and appeared in 19 games this season collecting six goals and seven assists for 13 points.
Blatny has played in 25 career NHL games, five with Boston and 20 with the Atlanta Thrashers. Blatny was originally drafted by the Thrashers in the third round (68th overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. Blatny split three seasons (2001-2004) between the Thrashers and the Chicago Wolves before spending the 2004-05 campaign playing in Europe.

I sure hope that means that
I sure hope that means that Justin Keller is coming back this weekend, because the Falcons are already without Milley up front and Blatny was the insurance policy.
