what is going on now?

I was on board till Monday, with the coaching. Why did Torts bring back Boyle and plug him into the power play immediately? The 6th ranked PP; what are they now? Why didn't they send him to Norfolk for a week; couldn't he see in practice that he was not ready? This is the same coach that played Taylor last year. It seems Torts gets a system, then when things go wrong, he makes the wrong adjustments. Now what will he do; put them on a plane to Vancouver and scream at them the whole way? Maybe that's happenning while I'm trying to squeeze this in to my shrinking space. Tort's put us in this tailspin, and then tried to blame the players. It will be very interesting to see what happens next.

Coaching update

Submitted by chuckdavies on November 25, 2007 - 07:01.

In the second period, scored tied 1-1, did anyone notice how Torts put Vinny with Oueliet and Hlvack, then Richards with Prospal and Marty on consecutive shifts? The results: two goals for NJ within a minute. That is usually enough to lose against Brodeur, and it was. We were outplayed the first period, starting to gain some momentum, then this? Are we more worried about Madden (what they do), or what we do? We have had a big problem with defensive lapses; it just didn't seem the time to get creative (risky) when we've have had such a bad run, especially against Brodeur!

Does Torts get the most from his players? Are the stars so locked into their icetime it dosen't matter what they do they will still play 26-28 minutes a game (ie Richard's poor line shift against the Canes in the 3rd period resulting in the tying goal)? What were the consequences of that? Ask Ward what happens when he errors?
