It was a family affair as Dana Tyrell notched his first WHL hat trick in a Prince George romp over Kamloops.

Victoria moved into a tie for second place in the Coastal Conference by upsetting the first place Clippers 2-1. Courtnall had the primary assist on the game winning goal, scored with 5 seconds left in the second period.

Jonathan Bernier, who started the season for the Los Angeles Kings, made 23 saves for Lewiston.

Prince George Cougars 8 @ Kamloops Blazers 3

Dana Tyrell had his first hat trick since he played midget level hockey, and the Cougars also got a goal from Dana’s younger brother, Corey, in an 8-3 beat-down of Kamloops. Dana’s goals came in approximately 6 1/2 minutes of play between the late first and early second periods. Kamloops had a goal between his second and third goals to eliminate the possibility of a natural hat trick. The Cougars scored 8 goals on just 21 shots.
