Lightning/Rogers Face Monday Signing Deadline

According to Erik Erlendsson of the Trib, the Lightning are currently in contract negotiations with 19 year old defenseman Andy Rogers. The deadline to sign Rogers will be at 5pm Monday otherwise Rogers will have to be returned to his junior team, Prince George of the WHL. The mere fact that the Lightning are seriously discussing a contract with Rogers is likely an indication the club is favoring the blueliner over his competitor Timo Helbling. However, nothing is set in stone, and the team could still return Rogers to junior within 10 NHL games played.
