I watched the Saturday night

I watched the Saturday night Wolverines-Broncos game on CSTV and saw the Quick goal. Quick had crept in to just inside the left face off dot and took the pass from Turnbull. The WMU PK unit got caught on the right side of the ice and Quick just skated alone into prime real estate. As for drawing Gill out, he was just trying to come out and cut down Quick's angles, but he put it far side over Gill's glove. At least that's how I recall it...

Quick's goal came less than a minute after WMU scored a PP goal of their own to cut the Wolverine lead to 2-1. WMU got a full two minute 5-3 power play, but a minute into got a tripping call and scored their PP goal 4 on 3. Right after the WMU goal, Michigan gets an abbreviated power play and Red Berensen sent out Quick. Quick also started the 2nd period on a Michigan power play.

The fact that Quick is getting power play time is a sign that he is beginning to distinguish himself. At the beginning of the season, he seemed to only get PK time in addition to even strength.
