NHL Game Night: 2-14-13 Capitals at Lightning

I expected more after the comeback in the Canadiens game.


Mathieu Garon allowed 4 goals on 39 shots for the loss. Far be it from me to question Guy Boucher, but at this point I'd be strapping a saddle to Anders Lindback and riding him the rest of the season.

Florida rallied back after falling behind 2-0 in the first minute of the second period but South Carolina scored late in the third period to earn its third-straight victory and pull within a point of the visiting Everblades in the South division standings. After going scoreless over the past six games, Dan Milan registered a secondary assist on Brody Sutter's second-period goal which tied the game heading into the final frame. Pat Nagle is now 1-1 with a shootout loss in five February appearances. Florida (24-17-9, 57 PTS) continues its road trip against Greenville (29-17-5, 63 PTS) on Friday night.

Trade Analysis: Tokarski Dealt to Habs

Longtime Tampa Bay Lightning prospect goaltender Dustin Tokarski was traded this morning to the Montreal Canadiens for former Lightning goaltender Cedrick Desjardins.

Desjardins, 27, has appeared in 22 games this season with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League, compiling a record of 7-13-2 with a 2.94 goals-against average and .905 save percentage. The Edmundston, New Brunswick, native has played in two career NHL games, both with the Lightning during the 2010-11 season, picking up a pair of victories while recording a 1.00 goals-against average and .968 save percentage.
