NCAA semi-finals

Mike Lundin and Maine missed out on the chance for a national title as they fell to Michigan State in the first game of the Frozen Four. Lundin was scoreless and a plus-1 in the game.

Boston College beat North Dakota 6-4 in the other semi-final game, setting up Saturday's National Championship.

We're In!

Although they only needed one of the following teams to lose, with losses tonight by both Montreal and Toronto the Lightning have clinched a spot in the 2007 playoffs. They've also clinched - at worst - the 7 seed, though their eyes are on Atlanta and the division.

Wednesday's Elitserien Playoff Score

In Game One of the Swedish Elitserien finals, Linkopings defeated MODO 5-1 to stake themselves to a 1-0 series lead. Lightning prospect defenseman Andreas Holmqvist rose to the occassion posting 1 goal and 1 assist with 2 penalty minutes in the game. Game Two is scheduled for Friday.

Johnstown holds a 2 point lead on Wheeling and a 3 point lead on Reading (with the Royals holding 1 game in hand) for the final playoff spot in the North Division.

Johnstown has two games remaining on their schedule, a home and home against Reading.

Wheeling has a home and home against Trenton remaining on their schedule.

Reading has one game at Trenton remaining before their home and home against the Chiefs.
