Koshechkin Loses For Second Time This Season

Lightning prospect netminder Vasily Koshechkin finally surrendered a goal today, [i]a[/i] goal. Unfortunately that was all Khimik MO needed to defeat Togliatti 1-0. Koshechkin's record drops to 4-2-0 as a starter. Elsewhere, Alex Polushin scored the opening goal in Cherepovets' 2-2 tie with Molot Perm. The goal was Polushin's 6th of the season.

Hagglund Notches Goal in Oskarshamn Victory

Although he's been quiet offensively in recent weeks, LW Johan Hagglund scored a power play goal today in Oskarshamn's 4-3 OT victory over Sundsvall. Hagglund has 2G 1A in 9 games this season with a +5 rating primarily on the team's second line. Oskarshamn is currently 4th in the Allsvenskan just 2 points back of first place Malmo.

Koshechkin Logs Third Shutout

Vasily Koshechkin had his third shutout of the season today and third in the last 4 games to run his record to 4-1-0 for the season. Since earning the starting role for Togliatti, Koshechkin has only allowed 4 goals in 5 games. Nikita Alexeev once again did not dress for Omsk.
