Vishnyakov Off to Hot Start

Lightning prospect Albert Vishnyakov is off to a hot start grabbing the very early lead amongst the club's Russian based prospects in scoring. On Friday, Vishnyakov scored the second goal for Superleague power Dynamo in their 7-1 domination over freshly promoted Vityaz. Also, Dimitry Kazionov assisted on the game winning goal in Togliatti's 2-1 victory over Salavat Yulayev.

Darby Traded

TSN Canada is reporting [url=http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=135785]veteran center Craig Darby has been traded to the Vancouver Canucks for future considerations.[/url] The 31 year old's departure should allow greater playing time for newly signed Ryan Vesce. The deal also opens a veteran spot in Springfield which might be filled by Harlan Pratt, who has been invited the Lightning camp on a tryout basis.

Lightning Prospects Beat Detroit, Finish Second in TC

Marek Kvapil scored mid-way through the third period to help the Tampa Bay Lightning to a [url=http://www.tampabaylightning.com/content.cfm?category=3&pageid=1358/]3-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings prospects.[/url] Adam Henrich and Justin Keller both notched their fourth goals of the tournament in the win. Andy Rogers added an assist, giving him six points (1-5) in the four game tournament to lead all Lightning players. Stanislav Lascek got off the schnide, adding an assist before returning to Chicoutimi. Zbynek Hrdel, Paul Ranger, and Radek Smolenak also contibuted on the scoresheet with assists.

Lightning Prospects Defeat Wild in OT

In Traverse City, Michigan tonight the Lightning prospects improved their record to 2-1 [url=http://bolts.tbo.com/lightning/MGBDH9BWDDE.html]with a dramatic 3-2 overtime victory.[/url] Defenseman Andy Rogers scored a game winning power play goal to break the deadlock. Other Lightning goals were scored by 2005 draftee Radek Smolenak and tryout invitee Maxime Boisclair. Goaltender Jonathan Boutin stopped 31 of 33 shots for the victory. The Traverse City prospect tournament concludes tomorrow night as the Lightning square off against the Detroit Red Wings' prospects.
