Lightning goaltending prospect Karri Ramo , who was selected in the 6th round of the 2004 draft, fell 5-0 today at the hands of JYP. Ramo stopped 43 of 48 shots in the loss (.896 sv%). For the young Finnish netminder, some solace can be taken in the way he held his team into the game even against an onslaught of JYP shots.
Through two periods JYP had a remarkable 33 to 10 shot advantage over the happless Pelicans, and yet Ramo still held his team within two goals going into the final frame. However as the game progressed towards finality, and Ramo continued to wear down under constant offensive pressure from JYP, he finally relented allowing 3 goals on the final 12 shots of the contest.
Ramo now stands with a .917 sv% and 3.38 GAA after today's match.
