The 2005-06 Springfield Falcons looked a lot like the dreaded 2004-05 Falcons as Lowell broke open a 2-2 second period tie to beat Springfield 7-2 Tuesday night. The game, which was added late to the exhibition schedule, was played in an empty MassMutual Center [3] and was described by Brandon Elliott [4] as basically a scrimmage.
Scoring for the Falcons, who dressed several tryout players, was Lightning prospect Zbynek Hrdel [5] and tryout defenseman and former Ohio State Buckeye Doug Andress. Gerald Coleman [6] and Jonathan Boutin [7] continued their battle for depth chart supremacy with Coleman widening his lead by allowing two goals in his 30 minutes of action. Boutin allowed five to take the loss.
