The Falcons waffled the Providence Bruins tonight [3] in their first official preseason game 5-2. Falcons goal scorers were Norm Milley, shorthanded, Marek Kvapil [4], Jim Campbell, Dennis Packard [5] and Brandon Elliot.
Brian Eklund [6] stopped 17 of 19 through two periods before giving way to Morgan Cey who went a perfect 6 for 6 in the final frame to seal the victory.
Fran Sypek's write up of the game [7] praises last year's rookie Falcons like Andre Deveaux. Second year pros Deveaux and Henrich notched one assist each while Paul Ranger [8] had 2 assists. Norm Milley (1G 1A) and Ryan Vesce (2A) also had multi-point nights. Vesce was originally credited with the Falcons' fifth goal which was awarded to Elliot. Henrich and Darren Reid [9] led the team in shots on goal. The Falcons' final preseason game is Sunday.
