It's always incredibly difficult to lose a game late, especially after mounting an outstanding comeback to get the game back even. At the end of the day, however, the Admirals know they didn't really get into this game in the second period, and they need to be prepared from the drop of the puck on the second game of these home sets against the same opponent. Hershey simply could not afford to lose this game, and the Admirals didn't match their intensity early.
We also saw again: if the Admirals just get to 3 goals, these goaltenders will get them at least a point more often than not. The shame about it now is Ryan Craig is going to be recalled, and even if Tampa sends down Craig MacDonald to compensate the offensive punch will not be the same.
Now the Admirals head north for a tough road trip through Hartford (6-5-1), Springfield (5-5-2), Providence (8-1-0), and Lowell (5-5-1). 4 games in 5 nights. There are no patsies on this trip and this might be an early make or break segment of the schedule. Hopefully Karri Ramo returns soon and the Lightning sort out the forward situation as well.
