Apparently trying to keep pace with fellow Lightning prospect Stanislav Lascek for the goal-scoring lead among Lightning prospects, Justin Keller had a hattrick Wednesday night as Kelowna beat up on Swift Current, 6-3. However, Keller one-upped Lascek in that his was a natural hatter. Starting at the 4:40 mark of the third period - and down 3-2 in the game - Keller scored three straight goals to give the Rockets the lead. A teammate would add an empty netter to get the 6-3 final score.
Keller now has 24 goals on the year, one behind Lascek. Keller's 41 points in 31 games are good enough for fifth place in the WHL, 13 points behind Moose Jaw Warrior Troy Brouwer. He is third in the league in goals.
In other action in the "Dub," Vlad Mihalik scored his third of the season in a 3-2 Red Deer shootout loss to Saskatoon. Mihalik scored the game tying goal half-way through the third period.
