Quinnipiac College's Matthew Peca [6] was honored by ECAC Hockey with a first-ever Fischer Hockey Monthly Award - Rookie of the Month.
Peca, a freshman forward and seventh round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the summer, has had an impressive fiÂrst month to his NCAA career with eight points (3 goals) in eight games. He has at least a point in the last seven games.
Last week, Peca was honored with the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week award.
