Ontario Hockey League
Owen Sound Attack 3 @ Barrie Colts 4 (SO)
D Jake Dotchin [7], OS: 0-0-0, E, 0 PIM
Season totals: 3 GP, 0-2-2, +2, 4 PIM
Barrie scored with 30 seconds left in the game to send the contest to overtime. Lightning prospect defenseman Jake Dotchin was not on the ice for the game-tying goal. Jets first rounder (2011) Mark Scheifele, who “should” be in an NHL camp right now, had a goal and an assist for Barrie, but did not convert his shootout attempt on Rangers pick Jordan Bennington. Bennington, as longtime Bolt prospects followers will remember, was a tandem-mate of former Lightning prospect Michael Zador [8] when Owen Sound won the OHL championship. Zador, who was drafted ahead of Jaroslav Janus [9] in the 2010 draft, appears to be out of hockey now.
Erie Otters 5 @ Peterborough Petes 1
D Slater Koekkoek [10], PBO: 0-0-0, -1, 2 PIM (cross-checking)
Season totals: 3 GP, 0-1-1, -3, 4 PIM
The Petes were coming off a road win and played well, outshooting the Otters 48-25, but were stymied by Columbus second rounder Oscar Dansk (pictured). The import player from Sweden was named first star of the game.
