G Adam Wilcox , MIN: Tie, 23 saves on 27 shots
Season totals: 16 GP, 10-2-3, 1.78 GAA, .920 sv%, 2 SO
Minnesota had leads of 3-0 and 4-1, but couldn’t make them stand up against a potent Colorado College offense led by Alexander Krushelnyski (undrafted), son of former NHLer Mike Krushelnyski. The younger Krushelnyski took over the third period, scoring twice and setting up the game-tying goal in the closing seconds with CC’s goalie pulled. The tying goal was scored when Krushelnyski make a long pass from the half-wall to a teammate standing behind the Minnesota defense on the weak side. Wilcox lunged at the one-timed shot, but couldn’t stop it. Wilcox will head into the Christmas break with 10 wins, which is outstanding – especially for a freshman. The Gophers are second in the WCHA by one point behind Denver.
