Jonathan Drouin , François Brassard and Guillaume Gélinas were named the TELUS three stars for the month of November on Monday.
Drouin is the first star of the month of November in the QMJHL. The Halifax Mooseheads forward had 12 goals and 19 assists in just 10 games. According to the league, his 31 points tied the team record for most points in a month, also held by two other players during the 1999-2000 season, Brandon Reid and Ramzi Abid. The 1st round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning maintained a +14 rating, and scored at least one point in each of his 10 games. In seven games, he scored at least three points, and matched his career-high five points in a game against Acadie-Bathurst on November 22. The average of 3.1 points per game maintained by Drouin in November allowed him to climb to second in scoring in the QMJHL. His 47 points place him 12 points behind the leader of the QMJHL, Anthony Mantha (59). Drouin's performances helped his team get 9 wins in 10 games for the month of November.
BP Notes: Reid and Abid were rivals of Brad Richards ' Rimouski squad that year. Drouin was also named to Team Canada's WJC Selection Camp roster. He played for Canada last year and has a good chance to have the honor of being Canada's captain. Andrey Vasilevskiy was named to Russia's roster and Adam Erne to Team USA's. Noted omissions were Slater Koekkoek (Canada) and Dylan Blujus (USA), both of whom were in their country's summer camps.
