Good teams beat the teams they should beat. With 3 of 4 straight matchups out of the way with Dayton, the Chiefs have claimed 5 of a possible 6 points.
Morgan Cey stopped 30 of 31 in the win. Mike Egener, freshly back from a knee injury, showed some offense tonight with a goal and an assist on the power play. Gerard Dicaire also chipped in a power play goal and Brandon Elliot added an even strength goal. With the victory, the Chiefs move to .500 at 13-13-8 with 34 points. They move two points ahead of Toledo into 4th in the North Division of the Atlantic Conference. More importantly, they have vaulted into 9th in the conference just 1 point behind 8th place South Carolina, although the unique playoff format of the ECHL will mean the top 5 teams in the North division will make the playoffs this year.
