With a second point on the table in overtime, the Syracuse Crunch came up just short.
The Crunch stopped the best power play in league on an extended 5-on-3 advantage in the second period, answered less than a minute after the Sound Tigers scored in the third, and Kristers Gudelvskis finished with 30 saves, but Bridgeport's Kael Mouillierat was able to score on a breakaway in the extra session to top Syracuse, 2-1, at the Onondaga County War Memorial Friday.
With points in each of the last six games, the Crunch has tied the Oklahoma City Barons for the most points in the AHL.
"I think it's tough when you lose any game, especially like that," said Crunch captain Mike Angelidis. "I think we had a good chance to win the game. We came back after they scored. We just have to keep bearing down and hopefully we'll keep getting points as we go along."
