The AHL All-Star Game is on tap for Wednesday, February 1st from Winnipeg, Manitoba. The AHL has put together a full TV schedule for the event. Nationwide, both the skills competition and game itself will be available live at 8pm on 1/31 and 2/1 respectively on NHL Center Ice. In the Tampa Bay area, the AHL skills competition will be available on tape delay on 2/2 at noon and the game will be shown on 2/5 at 3:30pm. The Springfield Falcons loan representative for the event is center Ryan Vesce.

Jonathan Boutin made 42 saves on 44 shots faced before falling in the shootout. Still, to come in from the ECHL and get 3 of 4 points in the weekend against the division leader is impressive, even if he couldn't make that one more save with a minute and a half left in the third to preserve the win. All you ask of your goaltenders is to give you a chance, and both Boutin and Coleman have done that for the Falcons this weekend.
Nick Tarnasky and Timo Helbling had the Springfield goals. Adam Henrich, Chris Dingman and Marek Kvapil added assists.

John Grahame stopped 22 of 24 in the loss. Evgeny Artyukhin hit a goal post with 2 seconds left in the failed comeback. Paul Ranger played 22:41 of even hockey with 1 shot and 2 hits. Doug O'Brien played 13:16 in his NHL debut but was plagued with 3 giveaways. Ryan Craig was -1 in 13:14 with no shots on goal. Norm Milley was effective early playing 10:32 with 1 shot on goal.

Absent from the lineup for Springfield tonight against the Providence Bruins were center Jason Jaspers and defenseman Doug O'Brien. Both were recalled by the Lightning after Darryl Sydor and Rob DiMaio both left the game against the Flyers today after Sydor took a puck to the mouth and DiMaio's took a high stick. Both Jaspers and O'Brien have been playing well of late to earn the callup. Jaspers scored 2 goals in Springfield's come from behind triumph over Portland Friday night and had 5 goals and 9 points in his last 9 games. O'Brien has been solid defensively of late and has 8 assists in his last 10 games.
Short roster? No problem.

Morgan Cey stopped 42 of 44 shots faced. In the last 48 hours he has now faced 94 shots on goal. Randy Rowe led a Chiefs attack that roared back from two goals down to pot four unanswered with his 17th and 18th of the season. Lightning prospect John Toffey assisted on the first Chiefs goal.
