Ramo won seven of 11 games for Omsk, posting a 1.92 goals against average, a .912 save percentage, and two shutouts.
Ramo is a restricted free agent who can be re-signed by the Lightning at the end of the year.
Harvard's Alex Killorn was named the ECAC Player of the Week on Monday, November 2, after scoring two goals and an assist in the Crimsonâ€™s 5-3 win vs. Dartmouth last Friday.
According to the Harvard Gazette, Killorn was named ECAC Rookie of the Week November 24, 2008, and was named an honorable mention for the Hockey Commissionersâ€™ Association National Rookie of the Month in February. He finished his freshman year with six goals, nine assists, and 15 points in 30 games.
He was a standout this past summer for the Lightning in the club's post-draft prospect camp.
Killorn was taken by the Lightning in the third round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
WGGB-TV out of Springfield, MA is reporting that Lightning University of Massachusettes-Amherst prospect defenseman John Wessbecker has been named to the HEAST All-Academic Team for the fourth consecutive year, earning him the Distinguish Scholar Award. Wessbecker, 22, completed his senior season at UMass-Amherst with 1 goal and 4 assists in 35 games as a stay-at-home blueliner. The Lighting have until August 15 to sign Wessbecker to an entry-level contract or he becomes a free agent.
According to the IIHF web site, Tampa Bay Lightning forward prospect Johan Harju has been named to the preliminary roster of the Swedish team for the 2009 World Hockey Championships. Harju recently announced that he had signed a contract to play with the Moscow Dynamo of the KHL for the 2009-2010 season, foregoing a possible pro contract with the Lightning. Harju finished the 2008-09 SEL season scoring 27 goals and 22 assists in 55 games for Lulea.
Prospect phenom Victor Hedman, the likely 2009 1st round draft pick by the Lightning, was omitted from the Team Sweden preliminary roster.
