Damian Crisdotero of the St. Pete Times is reporting on his blog that Lightning Player Personnel Director Bill Barber has resigned. Barber vacates the role after six years with the club.

Report: Rumble To Be Named Head Coach of Admirals

The Springfield Republican is reporting that former Lightning defenseman and Norfolk Admirals assistant coach Darren Rumble will be named the head coach of the Norfolk Admirals this week. Rumble had been told earlier this summer his contract with the Lightning would not be renewed, but after an interview in Los Angeles with new owner Oren Koules it appears Rumble is now the front runner to become Norfolk's new bench boss.

Bolts Re-acquire Rights to Prospal

According to tampabaylightning.com, the Tampa Bay Lightning have re-acquired the rights to unrestricted free agent Vaclav Prospal from the Philadelphia Flyers for a 2008 7th round draft pick and a conditional 2009 draft pick.  The 7th round pick (196th overall) traded to the Flyers was originally acquired from the Nashville Predators at the trade deadline for Jan Hlavac.  If the Lightning resigned Prospal this summer, the Flyers will obtain an additional 2009 4th round pick from Tampa Bay.  The Bolts had traded Prospal to the Philadelphia at the trade deadline for defenseman Alexandre Picard and a 2009 2nd round draft pick.

Lightning Re-sign Picard; Announce Quick Signing

(tampabaylightning.com) The Tampa Bay Lightning re-signed defenseman Alexandre Picard and signed defenseman Kevin Quick, Executive Vice President and General Manager Jay Feaster announced. Picard, acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers on February 25, signed a multi-year, one-way deal, while Quick received a multi-year, two-way contract.

Lightning Agree to Terms With Quick

Lost between the cracks of the John Tortorella/Oren Koules fiasco, the Lightning have reached an agreement with defenseman prospect Kevin Quick on an entry level deal. The word broke Saturday on Erik Erlendsson's blog. Quick played 18 games for Norfolk of the AHL last season on an ATO contract after being dismissed from the University of Michigan.
