Anton But had a goal in St. Petersburg's 5-2 win over Kazan. Dimitri Kazionov was scoreless in the match for Ak Bars.

Marek Bartanus was scoreless with 2 penalty minutes as Owen Sound fell 4-3 to Sarnia.

Kevin Beech stopped 26 of 27 shots faced but still got the loss as Sudbury fell 2-0 to Kitchener.

Dane Crowley had 2 penalty minutes in Swift Current's 3-2 win over Regina.

Salisbury Wins Opener

There's no box score up online as of yet, but in New England prep school action Salisbury knocked off Williston Northampton 4-2 last night in the school's opener on the road. Salisbury defenseman and Lightning prospect Kevin Quick has committed to the University of Michigan.

Chris Lawrence was scoreless with 2 penalty minutes in Mississauga's 4-2 win at Erie.

Marek Bartanus was scoreless in Owen Sound's 4-3 overtime win against Toronto. Bartanus has just 1 goal and 1 point in his last 10 games. He's also -6 over that span.

Vladimir Mihalik had a pair of power play assists in Prince George's 5-4 shootout loss to expansion Chilliwack. The 2 helpers give Mihalik 3 goals and 12 points in 20 games this season, matching the 3 goals and 12 points he put up all of last season in 62 games with Red Deer.

Dane Crowley assisted on the game winning power play goal and was +2 in Swift Current's 6-4 victory against Brandon.

Vasily Koshechkin improved his record to 10-5-3 today defeating Ufa 6-3. Koshechkin has won two straight starts since getting shelled in his first game after returning from a successful Karjala Cup.

Albert Vishnyakov had an assist in Dynamo's 4-3 loss to Tver.

Kevin Beech stopped 10 of 11 shots faced in 40 minutes of relief to get the win in Sudbury's 5-4 come-from-behind victory over Sarnia.

Dane Crowley was +1 with 2 penalty minutes in Swift Current's 6-2 loss to Moose Jaw.

Vladimir Mihalik was -1 in Prince George's 5-2 loss at Vancouver.

WHL-Russia Game Two

Last night in the final game of the CHL-Russia Challenge, Team WHL crushed the Russian selects 8-1 to complete the six game sweep for the CHL. Denis Kazionov was scoreless and -2 with 6 penalty minutes in the game. Kazionov finished the tour tied for third on the Russian team in scoring with 2 goals and 4 points, officially, with 10 penalty minutes which is a solid outing considering the low level of the teams Russia usually sends to this event and the high level of talent the CHL can conversely send into these games. Kazionov will now return to his club team Tver in the Russian Superleague.
