Anton But had 1 assist in three games helping Russia (2-1-0) win the Finnish leg of the Euro Tour, the Karjala Cup. But's helper came on the only goal in Russia's 1-0 tournament opening win against Sweden. The veteran winger also scored to cap off a 1-0 shootout victory in the final match of the tournament against the Czech Republic. But also had 2 penalty minutes and was +1 in the tournament.

Also appearing in the tournament among Lightning prospects was Sweden's Johan Harju. "Big Joe" was scoreless with just 1 shot on goal in 3 games.

No.18 Harvard Crimson 1 @ Union Dutchmen 3 (ECAC)
C/W Alexander Killorn, HAR: 1-0-1, E, 4 PIM (interference, tripping), 4 SOG
Season totals: 4 GP, 1-2-3, E, 12 PIM

Killorn scored his first official collegiate goal on the power play for the Crimson, but it wasn’t enough as Union broke a 0-6-1 streak against Harvard for the win. Killorn also scored a shorthanded goal late in the third, but the goal was waived off as the refs determined a Crimson player made contact with the Union goalie before the puck went in. According to a USCHO recap, video appeared to show the puck was by Corey Milan before he was interfered with, but the refs did not overturn it. Harvard coach Ted Donato “disagreed” with the call and was ejected for his protest.

NHL Game Night 11/8: Lightning at Flyers

Can you believe there was a time when people were trying to run Jussi Jokinen out of town?

TB-2
PHI-1

Mike Smith was excellent, allowing just 1 goal on 36 shots for the win. I thought Barry Melrose might give Smith a couple of nights off after the frustration he showed late in the Rangers game, but he threw Smith right back in and the young netminder responded.

First Period
17:20 PHI Briere (4), (Gagne, Richards)(PP)

Second Period
07:58 TB Jokinen (5), (Recchi, Roberts)
13:35 TB Prospal (3), (Lecavalier, St. Louis)

Third Period
NO SCORING

The best free agent signing of the offseason by the Lightning? Mark Recchi at $1.25M? Don't look now, but the old man has 8 points in 13 games so far this season.

Steven Stamkos had 1 shot, 1 hit, and was 44% on draws in 9:39.

Rockford found out they were Marked for Death, as Brandon Segal was named the game's first star. Jason Ward was the game's second star after setting up third star Zenon Konopka's game winning goal.

Steve Downie was +1 with 9 penalty minutes in his Norfolk debut, including a fighting major with an unsportsmanlike conduct chaser.

This team started clicking this weekend thanks in part to Zenon Konopka snapping an eight game goalless drought to chip in goals in each of the games against Rockford. Norfolk is now 5 points back of fourth place Philadelphia in the division, and they will start a road trip through the Atlantic Division starting Tuesday against Lowell before back-to-back games against Manchester on Friday and Saturday. Both teams are under-.500 and give an opportunity for the 3-6-2 Admirals to start to climb the ladder.
