Regina Pats 2 @ Lethbridge Hurricanes 3
C Mitch Fadden, LET: 1-1-2, +1, 0 PIM
Fadden made a triumphant return to Lethbridge, setting up the Hurricane’s opening goal and scoring the game tying goal midway through the second period in a 3-2 Lethbridge win. Both of his points came on the power play. Fadden was returned to Lethbridge by AHL Norfolk over the weekend. The Lightning has until June to sign the 2007 fourth round pick.
Sudbury Wolves 0 @ Brampton Battalion 4
W Kyle DeCoste, BRA: Did not play
DeCoste was suspended two games for getting into a second fight with Sudbury’s Eric O’Dell in a previous game. The second fight came during a stoppage in play.
Montreal Junior 0 @ Moncton Wildcats 1
D Mark Barberio, MON: 0-0-0, E, 0 PIM, 2 SOG
Barberio’s six game point streak came to an end, but the Wilcats were able to stop their modest two-game losing streak. Barberio is still a point-per-gamer for the year (8 in 8).
Gatineau Olympiques 1 @ Rimouski Oceanic 4
W/C Luca Cunti, RIM: 0-1-1, E, 0 PIM, 2 SOG
Though he hasn’t had many multi-point ones, that’s now eight games with at least a point for Cunti.
Lewiston MAINEiacs 3 @ Drummondville Voltigeurs 5
D Michael Ward, LEW: 0-1-1, -1, 0 PIM, 1 SOG
Ward, who has struggled in his Q career to find the scoresheet, now has points in four consecutive games. Drummondville got revenge for a shootout loss in Lewiston the day before.
Matt Marshall registers a point in his first collegiate game.
Wright scores two ... Courtnall and Cunti streaks hit seven ... another minuscule GAA game for Tokarski.
Outshot 25-4 in the third period and overtime.
Mike Smith stopped 42 of 46 faced in the overtime loss.
01:56 CAR Matt Cullen, (Rod Brind'Amour, Joni Pitkanen)
09:56 CAR Eric Staal, (Dennis Seidenberg, Tuomo Ruutu)
4:36 CAR Eric Staal, (Ray Whitney)
Bolt Prospects rules force me to show balance by making the glass half full statement: the power play showed signs of life going 2-for-7 and the team actually played pretty well for about the first 35 minutes of the game. However, you continue to see two problems with this club. They get hemmed in and they don't have the experience and poise to release the pressure, and they're not disciplined enough to stay out of the box.
Janne Niskala scored his first NHL goal and was -1 with 3 shots in 15:17.
Steven Stamkos had 1 hit in 6:05. Seen Stamkos? The faithful at the Forum didn't much tonight.
