Karri Ramo held Hershey to 1 goal through 40 minutes but the floodgates opened in the third. He allowed 3 goals on 25 shots in the game for the loss before being lifted for Jonathan Boutin who allowed 2 goals on 4 shots the rest of the way. Norfolk was outshot 29-20 in the game.

Blair Jones was a key cog at forward for Norfolk so far this season playing over 20 minutes a night with a significant power play role. It will take time for the Admirals to adjust to his absence.

Admirals Sign Kearns to PTO

In response to the callup of Blair Jones, the Norfolk Admirals have signed center Bracken Kearns to a professional tryout contract. Kearns, 26, has played 17 games for Reading this season scoring 5 goals and 18 points with 17 penalty minutes. Kearns has one full year worth of AHL experience having played 79 games for Milwaukee in 1996-97 scoring 11 goals and 26 points in 79 games with 59 penalty minutes. The 6'0" 195 lbs forward spent his formative years playing for the University of Calgary of the CIS where he had 12 goals and 35 points in 43 games with 18 penalty minutes as a senior.

Jung stopped 21 shots in regulation and 6 of 8 shooters in the shootout, but took the loss as Kelowna fell to Moose Jaw 3-2. Jung’s WHL career record in shootouts is now 0-6, though he fared well against the Warriors. Coming into the game Jung had a career .571 save percentage in the shootout. Jung has seen his playing time increase in the last few weeks.
