Paul Szczechura has been a revelation so far for the Admirals with 3 goals and 6 points in five games since being acquired by Norfolk. He was second star of the game tonight scoring the critical tying goal in the third period for the Ads.
Radek Smolenak extended his point streak to 4 games. He now has 2 goals and 8 points in 22 games in the AHL this season.
Norfolk dominated the opening frame outshooting Albany 17-5. After 40 minutes they held a 23-9 shot advantage, but had a 1-1 tie to show for it. The River Rats then stormed the Ads early in the third outshooting the Admirals 9-1 by the time Boutin relented the go ahead goal to Petruzalek. Then the Admirals stormed back to tie the game and in overtime they outshot Albany 6-0.
