NCAA Game Night: 11/18

No.18 Harvard Crimson 3 @ Brown Bears 3 (OT) (ECAC)
C/W Alexander Killorn, HAR: 0-1-1, -1, 4 PIM (boarding, interference), 2 SOG
Season totals: 7 GP, 1-4-5, -1, 18 PIM

Killorn, a freshman, earned a power play assist on the game’s opening goal and had at least two scoring chances in overtime. Harvard (4-2-1) had just snuck back into USCHO’s Top-20 at No.18 before failing to win at winless Brown (0-4-2). Minnesota (6-0-4) is the new No.1 after Lightning prospect John Wessbecker and UMass upset Boston University last week. Somehow Boston (7-2-0) still earned four first-place votes in the poll.

NCAA Game Night: 11/15

No.19 St. Lawrence Saints 0 @ Harvard Crimson 1 (ECAC)
C/W Alexander Killorn, HAR: 0-1-1, E, 2 PIM (boarding), 4 SOG
Season totals: 6 GP, 1-3-4, E, 14 PIM

The game winner was scored on a second period power play by Matt McCollem (St. Louis Blues) when he potted a rebound of a Killorn shot. The Saints were penalized after the first period when a player skated onto the ice after the horn to congratulate his red-hot goalie on his way to the dressing room. This is apparently a point of emphasis this year – go right to the room. The St. Lawrence coach was “fuming,” though St. Lawrence killed off that penalty.

UMass-Lowell River Hawks 2 @ No.20 UMass Minutemen 0 (Hockey East)
D John Wessbecker , UMass: 0-0-0, E, 0 PIM, 0 SOG
Season totals: 7 GP, 0-2-2, +10, 8 PIM

A day after dumping No.1 Boston University, UMass had a bit of a letdown.

NCAA Game Night: 11/14

No.16. Clarkson Golden Knights 1 @ Harvard Crimson 5 (ECAC)
C/W Alexander Killorn, HAR: 0-0-0, E, 2 PIM (boarding)
Season totals: 5 GP, 1-2-3, E, 14 PIM

No.7 Northeastern Huskies 5 @ No.15 Vermont Catamounts 3 (Hockey East)
C/W Matt Marshall , UVM: 0-0-0, E, 0 PIM, 1 SOG
Season totals: 8 GP, 1-1-2, +2, 4 PIM

No.1 Boston University Terriers 1 @ No.20 UMass Minutemen 5 (Hockey East)
D John Wessbecker , UMass: 0-0-0, +3, 0 PIM, 0 SOG
Season totals: 6 GP, 0-2-2, +10, 8 PIM

UMass convincingly upset the No.1 team in the country. The Terriers had scored at least six goals in each game of a three game win streak that the Minutemen ended.

NCAA Game Night: 11/8

No.18 Harvard Crimson 1 @ Union Dutchmen 3 (ECAC)
C/W Alexander Killorn, HAR: 1-0-1, E, 4 PIM (interference, tripping), 4 SOG
Season totals: 4 GP, 1-2-3, E, 12 PIM

Killorn scored his first official collegiate goal on the power play for the Crimson, but it wasn’t enough as Union broke a 0-6-1 streak against Harvard for the win. Killorn also scored a shorthanded goal late in the third, but the goal was waived off as the refs determined a Crimson player made contact with the Union goalie before the puck went in. According to a USCHO recap, video appeared to show the puck was by Corey Milan before he was interfered with, but the refs did not overturn it. Harvard coach Ted Donato “disagreed” with the call and was ejected for his protest.

No.14 Vermont Catamounts 3 @ UMass-Lowell Riverhawks 2 (Hockey East)
C/W Matt Marshall , UVM: 0-0-0, E, 2 PIM (boarding), 1 SOG
Season totals: 7 GP, 1-1-2, +2, 4 PIM

UMass Minutemen 1 @ Merrimack Warriors 3 (Hockey East)
D John Wessbecker , UMass: 0-0-0, E, 2 PIM (hooking), 0 SOG
Season totals: 5 GP, 0-2-2, +7, 8 PIM
